Set sail along the second largest barrier reef in the world with a skipper to raise the sails and a chef to prepare exotic libations and get whimsical with the catch of the day. Step off the yacht straight onto a dock that is attached to movie legend Francis Ford Coppola’s private island – Coral Caye, a Robinson Crusoe outpost surrounded by vibrant corals and azure waters. That last frontier feeling is at your feet, embellished with the signature Coppola touches and luxuries. The métier of this itinerary is privacy, elegant yet intuitive service and the feeling of being a million miles away from the rest of the world.
Outline Itinerary
After a short, private transfer from Belize International Airport, we will begin the journey sailing south on one of our Lagoon 500 catamarans with your skipper and private chef. This 5-day voyage takes you to some of the most spectacular islands and marine reserves in Belize. Highlights can include Tobacco Caye, South Water Caye, Pelican Cayes, North Long Coco Caye and more, the itinerary is plotted and planned based on your preferences but following a Southern Itinerary to reach Coral Caye.
Your days will be spent waking up to the sound of gentle waves and the smell of coffee – whatever your morning rituals involve we have you covered! Go for a sunrise paddleboard or swim, do some yoga on the bow, read a book, spearfish with your captain, or get straight into chef’s breakfast of the day. The itinerary is discussed at breakfast then we venture on our sailing journey to snorkel spots, exploring islands, spearfishing and more. All meals served at appropriate times of the day based on preferences and itinerary using the freshest quality sustainably sourced produce. Check out our sample menu for a taster.
On day 6 we arrive at the dock of Coral Caye. The island sits protected by the Belize Barrier reef and comprises just 2 rustic yet elegant cottages and a great house, offering complete solitude, privacy and peerless personalized service. The island is booked on a completely private basis and can accommodate up to 10.
The eco-retreat island is a truly ‘off-grid’ experience, so the emphasis is on disconnecting, unplugging and feeling a million miles. As such, no activities are planned. Guests can snorkel right from the shore, kayak, paddleboard, fish, relax in a hammock, or play board games from the extensive collection of classics. There are plenty of tailor-made additions available, such as al-fresco massages, a guided fishing tour, pre-ordered specific grocery items, a cake or special treat to celebrate an occasion. The options are only as limited as your imagination.
Your Butler and Chef will ensure your every need is catered to and they also act as caretakers, housekeeping and guides. They assist with day-to-day inquiries/ activities.
On day 8 it’s time to say goodbye (unless you have chosen to extend the itinerary and are venturing inland or to the beach), you are transferred by fast boat into Placencia where a 40-minute puddle jumper has you back to Belize International Airport.
Rates from US$19,558 for six people, 7 nights, 5 nights sailing and 2 nights on Coral Caye, inclusive of all meals and select Francis Ford Coppola wines.
